Newsletter — February 2019
Our *fabulous* new Newsletter Coordinator Katie has hit the ground running – check out your email inbox for the latest #PermacultureTasmania newsletter hot off the press today.
Our summer has dished up a lot; a lot of balmy evenings, garden bounty, a few downpours, and some much bigger challenges for many. While I am writing this, the tragic bushfires our communities are still weathering (either in threat or fallout) warn of further change. Yet, the outpouring of ground level support for those directly affected is incredibly heartening; this rallying to help others in need is a timely reminder of what is achieved through a heightened sense of community. More so, it highlights how important our efforts are to increase community resilience in facing the challenges of future change.
Hello – I’m Katie; Newsletter Coordinator for Permaculture Tasmania (PT). New-ish to permaculture and based on Hobart’s annoyingly dry Eastern Shore, I am also a Local Groups Liaison and the lead contact for a newly forming local group (more about that below). I look forward to sharing committee and member news, events, and information every couple of months. We like to share local content to help engage and enthuse you. Members, we always welcome your articles and any event details you wish to share with our growing audience. Simply reply to this newsletter to send your eNews contribution.
So yes, 2019: We. Are. On it.
Gordon White, introduced below, also joined the Committee as Events Officer late last year. And while we are gearing up for a year of activities and events, the Committee is also focused on creating an action plan for Permaculture Tasmania’s next two years. Members, we sent you a survey link last week to capture your input for inclusion (further details below). We would love to hear from you!
