We are a group of poultry fanciers, united in the aim to preserve rare breeds of poultry in Tasmania, Australia. There are many wonderful types of chickens, waterfowl and other varieties of rare poultry, found in Australia. We striveto promote purebred poultry, preserve poultry breeds, encourage young (junior) fanciers, standardise new breeds and varieties, and advocate for poultry enthusiasts.
Presently Tasmania has well over 60 breeds and varieties of poultry at risk, which we work to promote via our Annual Show, “Rare Feathers” newsletter, online presence and attendance at public events.
You can find out more about our club’s purpose and operations, under “About Us” which outlines our rules and constitution. Our club’s Newsletter “Rare Feathers”, can be viewed and downloaded for free under “Newsletters”.
We are always happy to answer any questions you may have in relation to poultry, or if we are unable to help, we should be able to direct you to someone who can help.
